Summary

Is Luna destined for a happily ever after, or is it "game over" for her love life?

Move to the adorable town of Brookhaven? Check。

Get bumped to first class on the train and meet the most gorgeous, considerate man of my life? Check。

Find a job in video game animation and a cozy apartment of my own? Not so much。

So maybe things in Brookhaven aren’t quite as idyllic as my friend promised。 My one saving grace is playing video games every evening with my best online friend, MidKnight。 Plus, helping him create his own video game helps me escape the drudgery of my demanding twin bosses and a dusty, cramped apartment。

It’s not long before our relationship turns from friendly to…a lot more personal。

Things get complicated when I run into the man from the train again。 He couldn’t forget about me either, and he’s been searching for me。 I can’t deny the intense physical attraction we have, but I feel like my heart is being pulled in two directions。 But there are things that both guys don’t know about me。

Being brave isn’t my strong suit, but maybe it’s time to find some courage。

Cinder Luna is a closed door, romantic comedy retelling of Cinderella with hidden identities and swoony kisses!

This was a fun modern-day twist on Cinderella。 Luna is a fantastic gamer, but doesn't want her gaming buddy to find out she is female to protect herself。 As fate would have it, they are drawn together and her identity is revealed。 This was a fun modern-day twist on Cinderella。 Luna is a fantastic gamer, but doesn't want her gaming buddy to find out she is female to protect herself。 As fate would have it, they are drawn together and her identity is revealed。 。。。more

I LOVE fairytales。From the time I was a child, the magic and beauty spun into stories of bravery and hope that led to love, had me captivated。With a modern twist, @authormariesoleil captures the wonder, kindness, heart, and romance of Cinderella in this novel; the first of a new series。Breaking down stereotypes of girls who game, addressing issues of safety in online gameplay platforms, and making it feel like you are under a spell with each page。 ➡️This book is absolutely fantastic and one you I LOVE fairytales。From the time I was a child, the magic and beauty spun into stories of bravery and hope that led to love, had me captivated。With a modern twist, @authormariesoleil captures the wonder, kindness, heart, and romance of Cinderella in this novel; the first of a new series。Breaking down stereotypes of girls who game, addressing issues of safety in online gameplay platforms, and making it feel like you are under a spell with each page。 ➡️This book is absolutely fantastic and one you won’t want to put down。 Tropes:💎Slow burn💎Cinnamon roll MMC💎Instant attraction💎Hidden identities💎Girl next door💎Closed door/kissing only 。。。more

I'm at a bit of a loss for how to rate this one。 Up until literally the last page of the main story (not counting the epilogues), it was 4。5-5 stars, no question。 Luna and Henry were both incredible characters, and I loved their interactions--maybe even more in their online personas than in person, since the in-person ones tended to be heavy on the physical attraction while the online ones got more into what was inside。 (Although I did love that Luna's heart captured Henry in their first real-li I'm at a bit of a loss for how to rate this one。 Up until literally the last page of the main story (not counting the epilogues), it was 4。5-5 stars, no question。 Luna and Henry were both incredible characters, and I loved their interactions--maybe even more in their online personas than in person, since the in-person ones tended to be heavy on the physical attraction while the online ones got more into what was inside。 (Although I did love that Luna's heart captured Henry in their first real-life meeting as well。) And I liked that all the secrets didn't stay completely hidden to the point of absurdity。 I loved Henry's sister and Luna's family, disliked her bosses, and liked her friends (although seriously, what is it with me and stumbling onto books with a different connected series lately???)。 I'm not a gamer, but I've heard enough about it to enjoy the references, and it was overall just an adorably sweet story。 Seriously, just about my only complaint was going to be that a couple of the kissing scenes got a little intense for my tastes。 (Oh, and a few instances of what I assume was some kind of innuendo from the characters' reactions, but that went straight over my head。 :P)And then we hit the last page, and if the words "The End" hadn't been right there, I probably would have DNFed。 Look, I know they didn't cross the line, but that last kiss, where they end up lying next to each other on the couch, "passion and heat passing between us"--that crosses way over the line for me。 It was billed as a "kissing only" romance, and it never went beyond that, but。。。I'm just not comfortable with this kind of heavy kissing。 I'm not sure I'll be able to continue the series, which makes me sad because I already see the setup for Henry's siblings' stories, and I was so here for them! (view spoiler)[The Peter Pan setup wasn't even trying to be subtle, and I called Beauty and the Beast long before the epilogue。 Still a little shaky on where Lily's is heading, but I'm leaning toward Rapunzel? Or at least something with a princess in a tower。。。poor baby! (hide spoiler)] But while I appreciate that things didn't go any farther, and that there were even standards set about not moving in together before marriage, that last kiss was way too intense for me。 Thus my problem with the rating。 Up until the last page, probably 5 stars。 Almost DNFing, 2 stars at most, probably less。 I could maybe read it again if I skip the last page, but。。。 I'm going to split the difference and go with 3 stars, which really doesn't feel quite fair on either side, but it's the best I can do。 。。。more

Delightful retelling, I loved the characters, Luna and Henry meeting on the train and their alt egos ClockStriker and MidKnight, and their supportive families and friends。 The twins that offered her free accommodation for a ‘little’ help were just mean (and filled the evil stepmother/stepsister roles perfectly)。 I liked how they found out the other’s identity and the HEA。 Really looking forward to Adam's story。 Delightful retelling, I loved the characters, Luna and Henry meeting on the train and their alt egos ClockStriker and MidKnight, and their supportive families and friends。 The twins that offered her free accommodation for a ‘little’ help were just mean (and filled the evil stepmother/stepsister roles perfectly)。 I liked how they found out the other’s identity and the HEA。 Really looking forward to Adam's story。 。。。more

This is a cute contemporary Cinderella-esque story! It was fun to see how elements of the original story came into play, and I loved the video games theme! I always enjoy a hidden identities story and couldn’t wait to see how Luna’s and Henry’s two different worlds would merge in the end。 I think any rom-com fans will enjoy this real-world fairytale retelling!

Such a fun retelling of Cinderella。 I loved the direction she took with this story。 It is a dual pov, clean romance and is the beginning of a series。 And if you are like me you will be so excited for the next book to come。 In this retelling you get a modern day view of Cinderella while following Luna’s story and her tale of servitude and love。 Henry leads us into this series as a modern day Prince Charming。 He is caring and defends Luna even if she doesn’t know about it。 Such a fun tale。 I love Such a fun retelling of Cinderella。 I loved the direction she took with this story。 It is a dual pov, clean romance and is the beginning of a series。 And if you are like me you will be so excited for the next book to come。 In this retelling you get a modern day view of Cinderella while following Luna’s story and her tale of servitude and love。 Henry leads us into this series as a modern day Prince Charming。 He is caring and defends Luna even if she doesn’t know about it。 Such a fun tale。 I love that the “ball” and the Cinderella dress scene was adapted into this book。 And I need to know what happened to Henry’s sister (IYKYK)。 。。。more

Cinder Luna is going to take romance readers by storm! Marie Soleil did such an amazing job on this! I enjoyed the dual POV since it is my favorite。 A cute and fun Cinderella retelling。 I enjoyed the incorporation of video games。 I feel it gave this book such a step up in the plot。 It was different, and I love that! I'm a sucker for modern retellings of fairytales, I love to see the different ways authors twist them to fit the real world。 This one totally nailed it, Marie did an incredible job twisting Cinderella (Luna is way better than her。。。 And we have gamers!)。Luna and Henry have and instantaneous connection (in person and online) and the development of their story is cutely awesome, (just like a modern fairytale 😉) and their lifes has been unknowingly connect for a while。 They're just ment to be。I lov I'm a sucker for modern retellings of fairytales, I love to see the different ways authors twist them to fit the real world。 This one totally nailed it, Marie did an incredible job twisting Cinderella (Luna is way better than her。。。 And we have gamers!)。Luna and Henry have and instantaneous connection (in person and online) and the development of their story is cutely awesome, (just like a modern fairytale 😉) and their lifes has been unknowingly connect for a while。 They're just ment to be。I loved that there isn't evill stepmother and stepsisters, Luna has a loving family。 Instead, the evil cames in the form of the twin bosses/landlords of her。 They are not super evil, just very abusive ("work" related)。。。 and not very nice persons。 We don't have cool mice either, but the evil cat could be considered a friend in disguise。This is the first book of Marie Soleil that I read, and I can already tell I found a new favorite author, the way she writes mades you impossible to stop reading。 It was an honor to be part of the ARC team for this beauty。 I need to run and read the previous series so I'll have the juice details of all the established couples。I'm so excited to read this whole series。 Can't wait to read Adam's story。 。。。more
